All our ecologists have extensive experience of conducting JNCC Phase One Habitat Surveys to support a planning application or as part of larger EIA scale project.

JNCC Phase One Habitat Surveys to support a planning application or as part of larger EIA scale project. Phase 1 surveys are carried out in order to establish a baseline on the habitats present within the footprint of a proposed development. The results of the survey are then mapped on to a 1:10,000 scale map or figure using the standard JNCC habitat nomenclature.

Habitats

Habitats are assessed for their relative nature conservation value and significant or interesting features are described in the form of individual number target notes. This can include; important species, notes on current or past management or evidence of protected species.

Color habitat map

A color habitat map is digitally prepared in the office using standard JNCC color codes or GIS software (QGIS or MapInfo) and this information can also be provided in the form of shape files for clients as required.
